Earth Hour at the SLC

Ryerson University and the SLC will be joining millions around the globe to shine a light on climate change action by participating in Earth Hour. We will celebrate our collective commitment to our planet by switching off the lights from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
A Ryerson Earth Hour banner showcasing a glimpse of a rising sun on a dark background. In keeping with the spirit of Earth Hour, we will be turning off all non-essential lighting in and around the SLC for one hour. This will include:

  • Lights on Floors 3 and 4
  • Lights installed on the windows on Floors 1 and 2
  • Lights on Floors 5 to 8, depending on occupancy
  • Exterior lights

All floors and areas will be monitored accordingly. Lights will not be turned off if there are any perceived risks.

We invite you to switch off your lights and switch on your social power with us this Saturday. This is our time to #ChangeClimateChange!
