Mass Exodus is the Ryerson School of Fashion’s end-of-year event, and is being held in the SLC from April 8-10, 2016. The Ted Rogers Management Conference (TRMC) is a student-run business conference that aims to explore the business style and work ethic that the late Ted Rogers possessed and maintained. This year, TRMC ran from March 10-12, 2016.
The TRMC team partnered with the Launch Zone by virtue of their like-minded focus on developing entrepreneurial skills in communication, collaboration, design, business planning and leadership.
Ryerson University and the SLC will be joining millions around the world to shine a light on climate action by participating in Earth Hour. We will celebrate our commitment to our planet by switching off lights from 8:30 – 9:30pm on Saturday, March 19, 2016.
We will be turning off all non-essential lighting in and around the SLC for one hour. This includes:
- Lights on Floors 3 and 4
- Exterior lights
- Lights installed on the glass windows on Floors 1 and 2
- Lights on Floors 5 to 8 depending on occupancy
“Brilliant innovations in Canadian design and the ingenious renegades who create them, hosted by Matt Galloway.”
The SLC is thrilled to be open for the first time during the campus-wide elections! The SEAL Team has worked with students to draft guidelines for campaigning in the building that provide opportunities for candidates while respecting the academic nature of the SLC.

“The Society of Façade Engineering has awarded Ryerson University’s Student Learning Centre in Toronto with a Façade of the Year for 2015 award in the new building category.
“Based upon the simple premise of the competition, which is to recognize excellence in façade design and engineering as a specialist discipline, this year’s competition fulfilled those objectives with exciting entries from around the world,” said Chris Macey, chair of the award judges. “The judges believe the winners have significantly raised the bar in terms of imagination, execution, and vision with some exciting projects that are world class by any standards.””
Over the past year, the SLC Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) Team has measured the success of the SLC on our ability to quickly respond to students’ needs.
We strive to provide exceptional experiences for students and the community, and we do this by testing assumptions. This year, we will stretch the current assumption on how to maximize and use space in the SLC.
