Over the past year, the SLC Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) Team has measured the success of the SLC on our ability to quickly respond to students’ needs.
We strive to provide exceptional experiences for students and the community, and we do this by testing assumptions. This year, we will stretch the current assumption on how to maximize and use space in the SLC.
With the primary purpose and function of the SLC in mind, our team is collaborating on a unique pilot which encourages a creative use of the SLC space.
This Spring, Mass Exodus – the internationally recognized, student-run fashion show – will make its way to the SLC. Each year, Mass Exodus highlights the creative talents of graduating design and communication students, and in its 28th year of production, will highlight community as its fundamental guiding principle. The framework of Mass Exodus and the development of the brand is based on the School of Fashion’s guiding principles: innovation, diversity and heritage.
Our world-class standards and level of student engagement, coupled with Mass Exodus’ diverse team of students and reputation for high quality provides an excellent opportunity for a pilot here in the SLC. By piloting this academic student-led production in the SLC, it will help us explore possible new ways to use the space.
The SEAL Team is proud and excited to work with the Mass Exodus 2016 team in producing this event at the SLC. Stay tuned for more information!
