Shop the SLC – a marketplace for entrepreneurs – is back for the 4th year running on November 19th to the 23rd, with some fantastic new opportunities for vendors.

Participating as a vendor is the perfect way to explore the entrepreneurial world for the first time, grow a new business, or share your established business with the community – and it’s free! Shop the SLC is proud to bring a diverse collection of talent, passion, and experience together for an event that inspires, supports, and connects budding businesses within the Ryerson community!

For more information on new and exciting opportunities included in the vendor experience this year, read on.

New This Year:

This year we are taking Shop The SLC to the beach! Not only are we utilizing the SLC’s Amphitheatre space, but vendors will also be set up on the SLC’s 6 floor (also known as The Beach).  The Beach is our most popular floor and is designed to be a comfortable and casual space where students gather between classes.

You spoke, we listened! Thanks to feedback from last year’s vendors, we will be hosting a Meet n’ Greet event prior to Shop the SLC on Thursday, November 15th. The Meet n’ Greet will provide information about the market as well as an opportunity to network and meet other vendors.

The fun doesn’t stop once the market has ended either! An Entrepreneurial Lunch n’ Learn will take place on Tuesday, November 27th, where vendors will have an opportunity to engage in dynamic conversation with four experienced panelists on how to grow their business. The Lunch n’ Learn is a platform for vendorsat any stage in their ventureto learn, grow, and collaborate.

The four industry panelists will include:

One Government representative from NRC-Concierge, a Government of Canada program that improves innovation and economic opportunities for small and medium sized enterprises by helping them navigate available innovation resources and support programs.

Three Founders/CEOs/Entrepreneurs of start-ups at varying stages of growth.

We are looking for everything from first time vendors to established businesses. If you haven’t already signed-up, take advantage of this free, supportive, learning opportunity by filling out this form by October 26th!
